About This Section

Tape Measure Galley Almanac publishes guides to kitchen renovation in Irvine, CA, written for readers weighing up a job rather than browsing.

Commercial Position

The site is editorial rather than commercial. No contractor pays for placement, for a ranking, or for a particular opinion.

Why the Focus Is Narrow

This section does one trade in one market, and leaves the rest alone. Irvine, CA has its own conditions, and guidance written for somewhere else is often quietly wrong here.

What Guides Cannot Do

Guides describe the general case. Site conditions, existing construction and local code can all override what is described here.

How the Guides Are Written

Guides concentrate on judgement calls rather than procedure. The decisions a homeowner makes are almost always about specification and sequence, not about how a tool is held.
